For a while I’ve thought that the New York BadAss was more of a chump than a champ. At Cage Rage 27 tonight though, Baroni debuted at 170 against Scott Jansen. Baroni who normally fights at 185 actually seemed fast and strong.

Coming out his in patented Red Robe, he looked more like a Pro Wrestler from the WWE that an MMA fighter. From the beginning of the fight to the end Baroni was in control. With a 1:42 left on the clock, Baroni throws a nasty right hook and knocks Jansen out. Overall it was a good fight for Baroni.

It will be interesting to see who he fights next. The 170 division is maybe the hardest division in the world and it will take many more fights before Baroni is considered a BadAss in New York or any where else.
