While the Main Cards will be appearing on PPV on July 19th, FSN will have at least two preliminary fights starting at 4:30 PT on July 19th. If you dont have Fox Sports Net you should contact your local cable company or go to favorite watering hole.
The planned fights on FSN will be:
Vernon White verus Antônio Rogério Nogueira
Aleksander Emelianenko verus Paul Buentello
Vernon “Tiger” White has fought at every level and in all the major leagues. Don’t let his 23-32-2 record fool you. Fighting out of Ken Shamrocks Lion’s Den he has held his own versus Lyoto Machida, Mavin Eastman, and Jeremy Horn. He will definately be ready for his battle with Antônio Rogério .
Nogueira is a Super Heaviweight Brazillian Boxing Champion sporting a record of 13-3 with wins over Dan Henderson and Mauricio Rua. He is a solid fighter and comes from a great family. His twin brother is Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira current Interim UFC Heaviweight Champion.
Prediction: Nogueira Unanimous Decision
If you recognize the name Emelianenko thats because Aleksander “The Grim Reaper” Emelianenko is the younger brother of famed Fedor Emelianenko. Aleksander is 13-3 and has fought in Pride, M-1, and at the Bodog Fight in April 2007. Aleksander is a stud only having lost to Mirko Filipović, Josh Barnett, and Fabricio Werdum.
You may remember Paul “The Headhunter” Buentello from UFC 55 where Andrei Arlovski (who will also be on the Affliction Banned fight card) knocked him out with his 1st punch causing Buentello to fall on Andrei’s shoulder. Buentello brings a wealth of experience with his 23-10 record.
Prediction: Aleksander Knockouts Buentello in the 1st Round.
