Yes it’s a little old, we’ve been busy making updates to other parts of the site for better viewing but it has been confirmed that Fedor Emelianenko vs Andrei Arlovski will be Fedor’s next fight.  Affliction 2, as many are calling it right now, will be at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus.  The date for this event is scheduled for October 11th.

This fight is interesting to me.  It will be interesting to see Fedor’s strategy against Arlovski who I believe to be a solid striker and better at stand up than Tim Sylvia is/was.  I think Fedor’s strategy is going to be a little different.

Also, Arlovski will have to figure out what he’s going to do if he gets on the ground with Fedor as that will be a big advantage for Fedor.

Apparently Fedor has a loose agreement with Afflictions (which could explain the low payout for him on Affliction Banned) as he stated in an interview that he wanted Affliction 2 to be moved to October so he could prepare for his fight with Dream in December.

“I want to make up the time I have lost this year,” He also went on to say.”The next Affliction event is scheduled for November, but we will try to move it to October so that I can prepare properly for my fight with Dream in December,” When asked who he will be fighting he stated that “I will be fighting Andrei Arlovski,”.

Until I get proven otherwise, Fedor Emelianenko is still the top heavyweight in the world.

Arlovski is a better fighter than Tim Sylvia. He will present a different challenge for Fedor. Sylvia didn’t stand a chance and looked way overmatched. Fedor is one tough SOB and should win this fight barring he doesn’t get caught by an Arlovski punch.
