Affliction In Trouble?

After putting together a great first production could Affliction already be in trouble?

It’s no secret that Affliction’s initial success came because of the big named fighters they paid hansomely to get.  After a payout of approximately 3.3 million for their first event the rumor is Affliction is asking some of their fighters to take a pay cut of 50%.  For this they would get an “easy” fight.  Who wants to pay to watch a fighter have an easy fight?  Not me.

The second and biggest blow is the news of Fedor Emelianenko most likely being sidelined because of nagging hand problems when he bashed Tim Syliva’s face in.  Fedor is still the biggest draw Affliction has and the Arlovski fight was going to be bigger than the Sylvia fight.  Now we likely have to wait.

The silver lining could come in none other than Tito Ortiz.  If Affliction can sign Tito and get him on the October card they would have their draw back.  As much as Dana White doesn’t want to admit (he does on occasion), Tito Ortiz is as big of a draw as he is a pain in the ass to White.

Trump needs to un-fire Tito and get him signed to keep his new venture afloat.
