What do you mean a catch weight?

I think GSP should work his way up there rather then just going straight to the top like GSP did or else the same thing is going to happen to GSP what happened to penn haha

Catch weight is when 2 fighters from 2 seperate weight classes either weigh up in weight in between, or they come in at any weight. Sorta like Gomi and Diaz. Or even Sakuraba and Assuerio Silva but that was before weight classes. Royce vs Hughes is another example.

a catch weight would mean that GSP wouldn't need to move up in weight and lose specific traits, but he'd still be able to have the fight he wants.

That beats me. Penn has also fought at 205 and lost against Machida. And well.. He looked terrible. But look how tiny he looked against GSP. His frame was more meant for LW. GSP has enough strength to push around LHW's. He has access to training with UFC Champs and contenders. Evans is explosive, strong and quick like Silva. His upcoming fight against Alves will test him on how he does against talented Muay Thai practitioners. and he's in one of the best training camps. Greg Jackson has some brilliant strategies. I mean did you hear GSP's strategy for Penn? They have gameplans broken down to a science.

I think GSP has a good chance against Silva. And the fight will need to happen to determine who the #1 P4P crown belongs to.

I think Penn could have done that but GSP wouldn't have put the belt on the line if it was catch weight.

I'm a firm believer that BJ is at his best at lightweight and lightweight ONLY. He doesn't have the power to be up in weight anymore. I can't wait until he fights KFlo
