I just dont get it.

I understand the initial recoil from some one infringing on our Beloved UFC. Especially after the god awful IFL fiasco.....:whatever: boring

But i think that after some refinement, Elite XC will have alot to offer. They are respectful of other fight organizations, explain things in detail, review past acheivements, and allow newbies to get an idea of how all of the sport relates to the rest.

The UFC tends to shy away from doing that. I like knowing the history and who has beat who. It paints a broader picture of the fighter's profressional lives in general.

Not to mention it is cool to see people we know cornering others.

I can do with out the dancing ladies and the special effects that arent very special, but the core of the organization seems to be headed in the right direction.

What do you think?:?

I want them to do well but the guy who is running it is talking so much trash about Dana he makes it hard.

Maybe it is all just part of it. Maybe its "hype"
I havent heard the trach, but I havent been listening.
I just cant bear to lose the sport. I have an addiction to it.

I think Elite XC leaves a lot to be desired for. First, their top people are fighters like Phil Baroni and Robbie Lawler.

The only positive thing is the female fighters.

I just cannot get used to the females. I find it unsettling. Maybe it is jut not my preference.

I did not say that I do not partake in such behavior;)

I said i did not like watching it. (I think it is the tacky sports bras.......) it seems like they are trying too hard or something. Some of that major back acne is just too much.

What ever the reason, I would rather watch a commercial.

Everyone likes a good chick fight. I think it's something new and thats why it's a draw right now. It may get old but it could catch on if there is some good talent out there. It's definately not as brutal as ladies basketball aka the worlds most boring sport.

I am just not certain that the level of talent and competition in the women's category will be able to sustain it long term. I may be wrong, but with the men an obvious comparison or parallel I think that it(womens fights) will remain a novelty.

At any rate, Elite XC had made a mark on MMA no matter how small

I thought the women's fight was one of the most entertaining matches in the last Elite XC event.Cristine Cyborg is intense!

Cristiane Cyborg looked like a man in her first fight. I think a doctor needs to do an exam before she fights Gina Carano.

Seriously, Elite XC is in trouble. It's no UFC but I would hate for it to go away completely. The best thing we can do is watch for free on CBS October 4th. They are apparently in the hole 30 million and asking for another 3 million in funding now. http://www.mmachump.com/2008/08/future-of-elite-xc-cloudy-with-scattered-thunderstorms/

Who are they asking for the funding? They need to dittch the Women's fights and get a solid fan base before they try to be novel.

seriously...the full fledged followers of the women's fights (specifically Gina for Mat and myself) are what's keeping them from dropping 40 mill in the hole

If you say so. I do not have enough ammo to debate the issue.

MAT tell me what is the draw.

The female fights is one of the big factors along with Kimbo. Kimbo's fight in May brought 5 million + viewers (biggest in history) the July event brought around 2 million. I would say Kimbo and Female MMA fights is what ppl like about it.

It's growing on me. I like free entertainment personally.
