So who all agrees that CBS screwed up royally on how they ran the fights?  They made it so the Kimbo Slice Fight got booted off the air... how weak was that?

Hopefully it was a lesson learned.

Yeah i was terribly disappointed on multiple levels.

1st - The game was rigged. They let someone who was already a lame fighter fight on the main card versus Kimbo just to ensure a victory. AND THEY ALMOST FAILED

2nd - Its hard on Live TV (not PPV) to ensure that you fit all the fights within a certain time period. When the UFC does an event though, they make sure that the main card fights within the designated time.

3rd - Their best fighters were the ones they didnt promote

Not to mention it looked like they tried to emulate pro wrestling with the dancers (who were just doing their own thing and didn't look a bit rehearsed) to the fire works and Phil Baroni trying to be John Cena coming out of the tunnel...but I loved it when he got knocked the F*@&# out! Cut some of that crap out next time and the timing would be fine. On a side note, the WEC ran after in their Pulver vs. Faber fight. This does happen, you just have to make sure the Tivo records the next show also.

Oh come on guys, I really like most of their fights on showtime.

Talk about rigged...go back and watch the Tito Ortiz VS Forrest Griffin fight. That sure looks like Tito was holding back.

I can do without the girls dancing, and the live music,
For some reason, I dislike watching women fight, they always look like they are playing around. Go ahead chew me out.....Im not listening.....

But,the Smith/Lawler fight was good.

On that note, the eye gouge sure looked intentional to me!!
The Thing i Noticed the most about it was that they didnt down talk the UFC. They made it seem like they respected them. Geeee, you think Dana would do that? Ponder that.

Overall they are rough around the edges, but go back and review the UFC tapes from some of the last few times that Tank Abbot fought, I recall that there was some of that extra dramatic frilly stuff then too. I myself am going to save my criticism for after they get a better foothold in the sport.

The head honcho for EliteXC talks down about Dana and the UFC. Not the announcers.

Personally, I'm jumping on the Affliction bandwagon.

If I had to pick a wagon to jump on, that would be it.
BTW On the Joe Rogan heckler video, Is he capping on a guy who is wearing Affliction?

EliteXC last September Hawaii wasn't all that bad, and to my recent knowledge Shaw hasn't really badmouthed the UFC. I was there for the Lawler titlebout and Diaz's suspension return. I do agree on the dancers though being booted because if they want to make it a big hit they're going to take flak for it eventually. Great girls to party with though that's for sure, just watch out by the pool cuz they'll push you in.
