The Ultimate Fighter is a reality television series and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition, originating from United States, and produced by Spike TV and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). On this show, professional MMA fighters that have yet to make a big name for themselves are situated in a house outside of Las Vegas, Nevada and compete against each other for the title of The Ultimate Fighter, winning a six-figure, multi-fight contract with the UFC.

For the first four seasons, prospect UFC fighters were selected in two weight classes. The fighters are divided into two teams, irrespective of weight class, each team coached by a current UFC headliner. The teams then compete (in a manner which varies by season) to determine which team would have the right to pair one of their own fighters against an opponent of their choice in the same weight class to an MMA match, the loser eliminated from competition. At the end of a season, the two remaining fighters of each weight class are placed in a single-elimination tournament, where the title of Ultimate Fighter is awarded to the winner. From season five to season seven, all fighters competed are in the same weight class.

The show features the daily preparations each fighter makes to train for competition and the interactions they have with each other living under the same roof. Day-to-day events on the show are overseen by UFC president Dana White.

With the exception of the season finales, fights on The Ultimate Fighter are sanctioned by the Nevada Athletic Commission as exhibition matches and do not count for or against a fighters professional record. This is done to keep the results from going public before the air date.

Wow, the shocker was that they let Jesse stay on as long as they did. The even bigger shock was that Dana said "call me in a few months"

He will never be ready, he is a turd.

I agree his behavior and other's on the show is unacceptable but UFC breeds this when they don't allow for ANY outside interaction. It's a recipe for disaster, or good ratings depending on which side your on. You have a few folks that may get kicked off but you get a 30% bump in ratings. A small price to pay for Dana.

I dont disagree with you. I dont even really care about any example that they set for younger viewers, or anything like that. I just am repelled by a grown man that urinates on himself.

maybe I do disagree a little, I just dont think that 6 weeks is enough time to turn a totally decent guy into a pig. It is either in you or its not.

I was wondering, Why do they let them trash the house like that?

Do you think there was any admonishment last season when the guy peed in the other guys gear?

What makes men do that?

Testosterone built up like a bastard child from the womb of satan for millions of years. I dont know why it took 7 seasons for Dana to take action on their childish behavior. It's not acceptable and it's giving the mainstream viewer the wrong idea of what being on TUF is all about. It's not about all the guys ruining the house towards the end of the show and bashing walls and throwing lawn chairs into the pool. Sure I enjoy watching that, but Dana should not air that garbage and put it as a special feature on the DVDs. Point Set Match

Personlly I thought it was interesting the first time they showed it, but I am tired of watching them urinate everywhere and demolish a nice house. It is old.

Does anyone know when the new season starts?  I believe it's Mir and Nog as coaches right?

Mir and Nogueira are the head coaches. We should also see Dan Henderson, Anderson Silva, and Lyoto Machida

Let's start new topics in this forum for future discussion. So if you want to talk about certain episodes, start a new topic, otherwise we'll have to merge this forum with UFC forum.

Well, I was personally surprised at the choice of coaches. Mir mainly, what excuse did he give for tapping out like a wuss from leg kicks?

What ever the reason, it seems like using him is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Except he is somehow at the top of the UFC heavyweight barrel after his win over Lesnar. The heavyweight division went to fantastic to sub-par.
