1 Randy Couture 16-8 There is no way I ever bet against Randy. At 45 he may be better than ever, and given the opportunity to prepare for his opponent. He won't lose
2 Anderson Silva 21-4 at 6' 2 185 he may be the most perfect athlete. Unlike other fighters who are either too big or too weak, the Spider is agile, quick, and has both knockout power and crazy good submissions
3 BJ Penn 13-4-1 With his new found work ethic, the Prodigy may not be able to be beat. He has a great chin and will eventually either out box you, or submit you. Be prepared for war at both 155 and 170
4 George St. Pierre 16-2 This guy is fun to watch. Much like Silva hes both powerful and fast. Its hard to move him past Penn with BJ's recent showings, but its close. Would love to see them fight again.
5 Urijah Faber 21-1 Have you seen this guys intensity? WOW! His hands just fly. For being the smallest guy on the list he may be the scariest. How do you hit someone who changes levels so much?
I have a hard time disagreeing with your list. The reasons are well thought out and very...reasonable. I would have to say that I disagree with the order though. BJ has no history of a sustained work ethic. This is just a novelty to him. He has the talent but not the drive.
Faber is scary good. He is just a baby but has some great talent. I do suspect that part of the reason he does so well is that the talent pool in that category maybe small.
I have to say that I may be wrong about that since I have only recently began following that weight class.I reserve the right to be wrong about that.
I will have to work on my top 5 and get back to you
I had to change the top 5 and drop Randy out although i think hes the best fighter in the world because he hasn't been active and we don't know when he will be in again. If you haven't seen Miguel Torres fight though, you need tooo. WEC baby.
1. Anderson Silva
2. Georges St. Pierre
3. B.J. Penn
4. Urijah Faber
5. Miguel Torres
6. Randy Couture
Maybe if Fedor would stop going and hiding behind some mysterious steel curtain where nobody lets him fight then he'll claim some much needed noteriety again with the masses of MMA fans.

okay here it is:
1)Fedor (as of July 19th)
2)Chuck "iceman" Lidell
3)GSP
4)Anderson Silva
5)Randy Couture
This was hard I might have to rethink the order
wow gsp over silva. i hope gsp vs silva happens would solve a lot of debate. then again, serra beat gsp but i dont think he was a better fghter even though he won. gsp showed in rematch that he is superior but putting anyone ahead of silva is hard to do.
faber is making is way to my top 5 depending on what he does in september.
fiveouncesofpain.com is still pushing the top 3 LHeavys as Rampage then MACHIDA and Liddell roundin 3, what a bunch of donkeys, do they not update their site or what?
