I don't think they're as screwed as you think. For the first ever event to get 100k+ buys is a great opening day.

They expected to lose money I'm sure. And when you have Trump who is really into MMMA backing you financially, you can afford to lose that.

Trump might Trump himself on this one though, i still don't see this going anywhere good...they're trying to steal the spotlight and fighters by having a HUGE fucken purse, and i think it's going to bite them in the ass here shortly

We shall see. If they attract all the top fighters because of the payouts, only time will be needed to get all top fighters.

Another 2 years? If they're throwing 2 shows within a 3 month period for their opening cards, they're gonna be far too into the red to even be able to pay all the top fighters in the world to aid them coming back into the black

I think you're underestimating the depths of Trump's and Affliction Clothing's pockets.

The one thing I had mentioned previously was the fact we don't know how much this has affected clothing sales. If sales were up a million dollars due to the publicity etc. then it would make up at least some of the loss.

The other thing I was thinking of after looking at their site the other day is that they make shirts for all (or a lot) of their fighters. Think about the NFL or NBA and jersey's. The NFL and NBA make a lot of money off those. The UFC does not have this but Affliction does. What kind of money can be made by partnering with the athlete and splitting the royalties with apparel? That can also offset loses on the events.

This is something new and also not taken into account in our analysis.

Precisely Watson!

Mat...the appropriate witty response would've been "No shit Sherlock, where'd you get your first clue." copyright that to my Aunt because she used to say it to me when i was like 7

No one but Atencio will say that it was over 100,000 buys. Not the cable companies or the cable analysts.

Why wouldnt he release the numbers if they were the 1st MMA Org to do it other than UFC?

I dont think they are as stabile as you want to believe.

you're right X, if they ever do something better than the UFC has done and tito is contracted to them you know damn well that he's going to be the first to try to rub shit in Dana's face with an interview of some sort

It is funny you should say that. i was wondering the same thing. I have a couple of Affliction shirts that I used to wear faithfully. Now I only wear them at  home because they dont seem as "cool" as they used to. I know this is probably not what you meant, but I have actually not bought anymore because I cannot get the visual of them plopping out of the ring out of my mind. It just all seems lame now.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #2f2f2f"I hope it gets better.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #2f2f2f"Tapout's newest clothes look cool!

As long as it looks the same. A cotton t-shirt can't hold up that much better. You should see the Coach purse I got on Ebay for the wife.....it's as real as Pamela Anderson's tits. JK- there are some things I won't buy on ebay...but I have good luck on there most of the time.

Yes, Tap Out is now laughed at by all fighters but they will surely continue to wear anything someone pays them to wear (and I don't blame them).

I looked it up...I would look good in that!!!!;)

As a note on Tap Out...they need to get an image over haul.

Skyskrape, that Afro is played out. Mask needs to get that growth cut off his arm.

If they are the laughing stock, then they should recognize it and do something about it!

I've never seen the show, can we get some reviews? I've seen ads in the MMA mags about it, but never really heard a damn thing about what it's actually about. Is it just them three wanna-be clowns running around Jackass style on the MMA scene or something?
