Subconciously????? Tuck don't let women fool you. That is 9 times out of 10 an intentionally choice. I am sure on a chemical level, that women are attracted to good providers. And power is like a drug to women. There are many types of power and most women are attracted to at least one type. For some women the money is not as important as the power.
