We are looking to get the inside scoop from our contact at Affliction on what this announcement could possibly be. Haven’t they pulled out all the tricks already?

Yes this is all for now but we will keep you updated as soon as we get the announcement.

UPDATE

Canada is invading US.  Well not exactly.  The Fight Network, a Canadian based broadcasting has joined up with Affliction.  They have been looking to get a US base for their viewers and this will be the way they can do it.  With what’s being called a mega fight card, The Fight Network will be showing the undercards for free for subscribers on their site.

“We will also be carrying one hour of the undercards free to The Fight Network subscribers before the July 19 (Affliction Banned) pay-per-view,” says The Fight Network president and CEO George Burger.

The undercard will feature Aleksander Emelianenko vs. Paul Buentello with more fights if time permits.

This is a pretty big announcement and just shows that Affliction is going through all avenues to make sure this event is a success to provide a firm presence in the MMA event organizer group.  This back and forth between Affliction and UFC is like watching two of the best chess players in the world going up against each other.

Their moves are not only defensive to protect themselves but they set them up for a new move every time making each other only able to ponder what is coming next.  I don’t know about you guys but this is making me really excited and looking forward to the future of MMA.

I personally feel both Affliction and the UFC could co-exist as major players but it seems like they don’t want that.  Each one seems to want to be the only major player and fortunately for us fans, it’s not a David vs Goliath scenario.  Donald Trump with other billionaires vs Dana and Lorenzo brings a Godzilla vs Mothra essence to the MMA scene.

It will certainly be interesting to see how things continue to unfold and if any more major moves or announcements will come before the event on July 19.  Who’s excited?  If you’re not, it’s obvious you aren’t a fan of MMA and just might as well tattoo CHUMP on your forehead.
