Not Just Basketball, Refs can Change an MMA Fight Too

If you are any type of fan you have to have called at least one ref a CHUMP within the last few months.

Just within the last few weeks we have had some crazy calls. At UFC 85 Herb Dean deducted points from Nate against Thales which cost Nate the fight. Then Dan Miragliotta had questionable calls in his Vera vs Werdum fight, stopping it way too early, and then he mistook Jess Liaudin for Paul Taylor in raising the hand at the end of their fight. At the end of May, he also seemingly gave Kimbo the victory over Thompson by 1st not stopping the fight when Thompson was demolishing Slice with his elbows and 2nd by stopping the fight as soon as Kimbo finally got a shot in against Thompson.

You probably can recall lots of bad calls from referees. Do you remember any from Big John?

Me neither, and that’s going to be great news for the sport.

Most people know by now that John McCarthy has now retired, but that doesn’t mean hes out of the sport all together. John has been in discussion with The Association of Boxing Commissions to help streamline the rules for MMA the way they do with the other sports they govern. They will vote July 2-5th. HOORAY JOHN.

This could mean that we would have McCarthy’s interpretation for the sport.

What you should take from this:

First, All Refs upset Fans. We’ve had gambling issues in basketball, and home run issues in baseball just in the last 60 days. Refs never seem to be in the right place at anytime. I think we should hire the camera men.

Second, wherever their is a bad call from an Ump or Ref, the Chump Network will be there to call it out.

And Third, Dan Miragliotta is our most recent CHUMP. I can’t respect someone that doesn’t ref the matches the same way every time. Make up your mind. Either call fights early or don’t call fights early. I don’t believe in “Make-Up Calls”. Get it straight or stay a CHUMP for LIFE

I cringe every time Steve Mazzagatti refs. In my opinion he is one of the worst. He takes points away (Lesnar vs. Mir) and stops bouts early (too many to list). He has done enough to coin the nickname “Early Stoppage Steve.”

One of the rules Big John is trying to get approved: Legalizing knees to the head of a grounded opponent when the Association of Boxing Commissions meets for its annual convention July 2-5 in Montreal.
