“Fighting Fedor” Reality Show

Blue Entertainment Sports Television (BEST) announced today the signing of Fedor Emelianenko for their Fighting Sports MMA Division.  Best is the US representative of M-1 Global.  Here’s a copy of the trailer of the show:

Later this year M-1 and BEST are to be having a reality show called “Fighting Fedor” where upcoming fighters will have the opportunity to train at Red Devil Fight Club in St Petersburg, Russia.  The winner of this reality show will have the chance to fight Fedor.

“We are thrilled to be working with Fedor as he continuously showcases his growth in talent and success within the MMA space, “ says Dennis Spencer, Executive Vice President, BEST Television. “We look forward to building his marketability and presence within the United States and abroad as he defends his position at the top spot.”

Personally, this doesn’t seem much of a prize for the winner.  It seems the winner should be allowed to punch Fedor in the face without having retaliation or have an armbar headstart in the fight.   I’m not sure a new fighter whether he is awesome or not, should fight Fedor.  It will take experience more than anything for Fedor to get beat.  It will be interesting to see how good the fighters are.
