WIth all the hype about KJ Noon and Kimbo Slice vs Ken Shamrock, it seems we may have overlooked what may very well turn out to be the fight of the night. That’s right, I’m calling the female fight the must see of Elite XC’s October 4th event. Gina Carano vs Kelly Kobald will prove to be a very interesting fight.
Jared Shaw of Elite XC agrees in this interview on Fight Hype:
PC: What do you think of Kelly Kobald vs. Gina Carano?
JS: I would say Gina Carano-Kelly Kobald is a fantastic standup fight. Anybody that doesn’t know Kelly Kobald needs to get on Youtube, Dailymotion or get on some of these underground sites or just talk to my boy Percy over here and he’ll tell you all about the girl. She’s had 2 minor setbacks to some of the best fighters in the world, Julie Kedzie, who gave it all to Gina as well, and Tara LaRosa, who is arguably one of the top 3 fighters in the world as far as the female ranks. Kelly got some serious standup game for Gina and Gina has all the time in the world to prepare for this fight. I'm expecting her to come in on weight and ready to be the superstar that she already is.
Well Mr. Shaw, you peaked my interest and I did as you say. For your convenience, I put the vids that I’ve found in the post for you.
I’m going to be honest… I’m not impressed. I don’t see Gina losing to Kelly. I can’t foresee Gina getting in a triangle by Kelly. Kelly didn’t have the strength to close the triangle and submit via submission. She should have had Adrienna submitted in seconds after applying the triangle. While I see this fight being interesting and entertaining, I don’t see Kobald winning.
Hey Jared, when are you going to start putting your golden boy and golden girl up against people who actually stand a chance and stop hyping their fights like they might lose them? Stick to hyping Subway because hyping fights isn’t your thing.
