Kimbo Slice has Ground Skills?

Elite XC had a conference call recently regarding the Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock fight on October 4th. Some of the quotes from MMA Junkie really caught my eye:
“Being a good grappler like myself — against a supposed-to-be striker like Ken — I’ll try and break his leg,” Slice quipped in regards to his strategy.
Go ahead, take a minute to regain your composure. I still don’t have mine back fully. Since when did Kimbo become a good grappler? Who labeled him as such? For those of you that don’t know, I can’t stand Kimbo Slice and feel he’s a disgrace to the sport and only brings people to watch events who are in it for the circus type fights.
He [Kimbo] stated that he grew up watching Ken Shamrock and that it doesn’t matter if he loses to anyone else if he beats Ken, he knows he’s good. Sorry Kimbo, no go. Ken hasn’t won a fight in 4 years and is way out of the game. You should beat him however, I hope you lose to reinforce my CHUMP status for you. You don’t belong in MMA. You belong on the street beating up nobody’s.
Ken – PLEASE BEAT THIS CHUMP!

As far as I don’t like Kimbo ( i am bashing from my blog as well) he has become much better !!
after the way he defeated Tank Abbot, i still don’t like him but at least i respect him a little more…
but I agree he must win this and fight someone who still is a real menace ( no offence to Ken…)

I agree. He has gotten better but until he fights true competition, I won’t embrace him as a MMA fighter. To me he is still a street fighter.

He still needs a lot to learn but in the future he will that I’m sure of. Like I said on another question he will come back: better, harder and faster! He has the potential to become a top 10 mma fighter.
