As you all know, stomps to the head are highly illegal and not allowed.  Well the same isn’t true in South Korea.  I think it’s safe to say a lot of things that are allowed there aren’t allowed in the states, not just exclusive to MMA.

Ye Won Nam knocked out Jeong Hyeon Hwang with stomps to the head at Spirit MC 18 show in Seoul as seen in the video above.  There’s a reason stomps to the head aren’t allowed.  The main reason, it’s VERY unsafe and the rules were put in place to protect the fighters.  Also, there’s not much skill involved in being able to step on your opponents head.  It takes the skill out of a fight when you can bash your opponents head in with your foot.

I don’t think we’ll ever see this allowed in the US and that’s a good thing. It takes away from the art of MMA and just leads right into the people who are against the sport.
