Rumor: Winner of Arlovski vs Nelson to Face Fedor

In the most peculiar prize, the winner of this fight will get to face Fedor.  I know, not much of a prize right? Well this is the rumor circulating around the net.  Tom Atencio was unavailable for immediate comment.

There’s a few things I see wrong with this.  What if, by some chance, Roy Nelson does beat Arlovski… then what?  Do you really put Nelson up against Fedor?  That hardly seems like an interesting fight.  In our previous post, we mentioned that Arlovski would be the obvious choice to go against Fedor as he was orginally in place to fight Fedor in October.

If Arlovski loses to Nelson, it definitely changes who’s in line for Fedor in January.  Some rumors were talking about Overeem vs Fedor but that was for a DREAM venue, not affliction as many were thinking.  Roy Nelson isn’t ready for Fedor and he will prove that on Saturday against Arlovski when he falls to the Pit Bull’s deadly killing nature.

But let’s say by some small chance, Nelson somehow wins the fight, I think Josh Barnett now becomes the front runner for the Fedor fight.  So I think it’s one sided when it’s being rumored the winner will get Fedor.  If Arlovski wins, sure it makes sense but not the other way around.  Roy Nelson should have to beat Tim Sylvia or some other chump before even having a chance.
