First off, I would like thank my family and friends… oh sorry, I feel as though I knocked out Kimbo Slice.  For those of you that don’t know, Kimbo Slice suffered his first MMA loss tonight against Seth Petruzelli.  The fight became reality when Ken Shamrock had to scratch his fight due to a cut above his eye from an earlier workout.

Neither Kimbo or Seth had any warning of this fight.  And I could tell before the fight that Kimbo didn’t seem in the right mindset as he had a nervous look backstage and in the ring.  Kimbo didn’t have time to train for Seth but the reverse is true as well.  Seth is in the LHW division and still took the fight.

The opportunity for Seth was huge and was a “lottery ticket” as the CBS announcers continued to call it.  Seth will be cashing that lottery ticket in.  The real question is what is next for Kimbo Slice?  WIll he fight Ken Shamrock, will he rematch Seth with proper training?

I personally do feel it was a lucky punch that started the next barrage of punches and that if both fighters had time to train appropriately, the fight would not go the way it did tonight.  I’ve always felt that Kimbo wasn’t that great of a fighter but I do think that if he would have had time to prepare for Seth’s fighting style, the result may have been different.

Either way, thank you for losing Kimbo.  You have made my night and re-inforced my views of you as a chump.

I hate Kimbo Slice! Although I do agree that the fight was awkward circumstances and if it wasn’t in Kimbo’s hometown I think he would have passed up the fight.

Lucky punch! but an L is still an L, it’s no excuse that kimbo didn’t know the other fighter, as proof in his many youtube fights. He didn’t train for any of them. This fight would be ridiculous to rematch with us all knowing the outcome. I was pumped for the Fedor Vs. Kimbo speculation but not so much now. Kimbo is still a bad man, but since going MMA doesn’t seem to have the same mindset as his street fights. I think if he just continued to do his fights HIS way and not be worried about MMA tactics (although he should know them for defense and not getting confused purposes), that he would knock out just about anyone.

Just to see what all the hype was about, I checked out Slice on U tube. He struck me as a big, powerful, man with poor technique and above average bar room fighting skill. While watching him knock out overweight jackasses in parking lots never gets old, anyone with any knowlege of MMA can see he’s not the real deal… He should stick to bouncing or something he’s more suited for. He could make a decent living at it and still get to kick ass and grow this urban legend he’s created. As far as serious MMA, he’s been exposed… He’s simply not equipped to deal with the well conditioned, technically skilled, studs he’s going to meet in the MMA world.

If it was a setup.. I wouldn’t be surprised, ..but to go ahead and start talking smack about Kimbo SLICE! as if he is nothing??!!.. how does any guy start in the MMA? Do you think by fighting pros in the the industry he JUST might learn something, something that will take his natural gift to a supernatural level? Dana’s mad because he doesn’t own him, and others are just insecure in who they are, so they attach themselves to racist mentalities.. people are so afraid of Kimbo Slice that they hide behind their keyboards and talk brave with a cowards tongue. Dana White .. keep your bodyguards close…. “real life” trash talking, gets a “real life” jaw broken

I thought Kimbo had some sort of chin. Petruzelli was stepping back and then punched. It didn’t look like it had a lot of power and Seth is only 205lbs (I’m sure around 210ish for the fight). No chin and no ground game = CHUMP.

I’M NOT HERE TO BADGER OR ARGUE, BUT THE REALITY OF IT ALL IS THAT SLICE HAS HANDLED WHATEVERS THROWN AT HIM, AS A MAN. HE HANDLED THE STREETS, AND HE’S BEEN HANDLING THE MMA, SO TO BADGER OR SECOND GUESS THAT IS WEAK WITHIN ITSELF. I WATCHED THE FIGHT, AND ME PERSONALLY, HAVING VEIWED IT CONTINUOUSLY, IT’S HIGHLY OVER RATED AND SLICE WAS NOT GIVEN A DESCENT AMOUNT OF TIME TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION. I’VE RESPECTED KIMBO’S STREET STYLE FOR YEARS, BUT LAST NITE HE MADE ME RESPECT HIM ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. WHY? BECAUSE HE LOST THE FIGHT NOT DUE TO INADEQUITE SKILLS OR PREPARATION, BUT DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE HAS MORE THAN ONE MAN AS HIS OPPOSING OPPONENT, HE HAS FELLOW FIGHTERS, OFFICIALS, AND NON-COMBATIVES ALIKE AT HIM. I COULD SEE THE ANGER IN HIS FACE, AND HE OVERRODE HIS GUT INSTINCT TO DESTROY AND LEFT OUT THE RING AS THE LOSER THAT HADN’T BEEN DEFEATED. NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TRY AND FOOL YOURSELF, DEEP DOWN YOU KNOW THAT THE FIGHT WAS FAR FROM CLEAN, SETH WAS IN FOR MORE OF A FIGHT THAN THAT. BUT KIMBO HAS THE NATURAL ABILITY TO LET THIS DRIVE HIM FURTHER, AND I HOPE HE DOES, AND THE NEXT MAN AND OFFICIAL ARE IN FOR A RUDE AWAKENING.

The only one kidding themselves smitty is you or anyone like you who thinks that the fix was in on that fight… There’s no way that EliteXC or CBS would allow that to happen with the fighter that they chose to hang their collective hats on. The very thing that makes MMA safer than boxing is that the fight is stopped when a fighter can no longer intelligently defend himself… unless Kimbo is trying to perfect some sort of defense where he lays there and allows the other fighter to tire himself out while pounding slice’s face; I’d say that stoppage occurred at the perfect time. And that was a light heavyweight who beat Slice up, imagine what a skilled heavyweight would do… Slice is charismatic and has benefited fromt he urban legend he and his posse created by beating down out-of-shape bar fighters and posting that crap on u tube. And don’t throw the “racist” card out either… There are alot of SKILLED minority fighters who have built the sport into what it is today. The fact is Slice is not ready for professional MMA. Maybe he should have spent more time learning Muay Thai and groundfighting skills and less time slapping chumps around in back yards and parking lots…

This wasn’t the outcome anyone expected, truly. We have all seen Seth fight in the UFC and lose, he was given another chance Saturday and took advantage of it and revived his MMA career. This shows you that Kimbo would have no chance fighting heavy weights in the UFC, as much as we hear about his improved ground game and so forth if he can’t take a punch he will be in trouble. Big dissappointment for Kimbo and his team.
