Fairwell Elite XC

Another one’s gone, another one’s gone, another one bites the dust. MMA Junkie is reporting that Pro Elite will cease operations this week. MMA Junkie has confirmed this collapse of the fight promoter however Elite XC has made no official announcement yet. Is it bad taste to say “Told ya so”?

The only company that was interested in buying the promotion lost interest with the recent accusations and investigations going on about “fight fixing” during the main event of Elite XC Heat. The promotion was being criticized and predicted to leave the seen for the last several months especially with the SEC filing for a loss of 20+ million dollars.

This looks to scrap the fights coming up for Novemeber 8th: A Night of Champions. The question in the back of everyone’s mind is where will the fighters go? Will Affliction step in and take the fighters under their wing? Will the female fighters have a future with a good promotion?

Kimbo Slice may not have much more of a future in MMA.  Dana White isn’t likely to sign him and I doubt any big organization will.  They realize he’s still a street fighter and anyone with any skill in MMA will beat him. Tito Ortiz, poor guy.  Just was working with Elite XC and supposedly had a deal set up and now will be crawling back to UFC or Affliction to get the money he wants.

All these questions are left to be answered with the fall of what many thought to be the #2 MMA promotion. We look to contact Affliction to see if Tom Atencio has an interest in bringing some of the fighters and the female fighters over to Affliction. Gina Carano is a big draw Tom, let’s do it!
