In a story from MMA Junkie found from our MMA News Hub, it was stated on TAGG Radio that Affliction one day would like to work with the UFC to have one champion for each weight class. If we can all come together and work together as one organization and we have an undisputed champion -- heavyweight, lightweight, middleweight, etc. -- then, yeah it's great, but is it going to happen? I don't know.

According to MMA Weekly, Affliction will use the unified MMA rules. This ruling of course will allow the fighters to use elbows on the ground, which has been the most glaring difference between many of the U.S. fight promotions. While organizations such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship and EliteXC have always allowed elbows under the unified rules, other promotions such as the International Fight League and Strikeforce have taken away elbows as a legal maneuver.

For the past year, Dana White and the UFC have been in negotiations to work on a network deal.  Some of the major networks still rumored to be in the running are Fox and ESPN.  CBS and NBC are out of the running for obvious reasons.  EliteXC hooked up with CBS and Stikeforce set it off with NBC. "We’re real close to a network, I’m going to say in three months.”

Is Dana White a chump for his announcement that the UFC will be having a show July 19th; the same night Affliction's big debut is on? I'm happy as a fan of all things MMA that I can watch two great shows but what this tells me is that White is certainly concerned with Affliction's entrance on to the MMA scene.

Maybe we can shed some new light on Dana White's announcement tomorrow.  It is being discussed and talked about having a UFC Event on July 19th.  Why does this date sound familiar?  Well it's the same night as the Affliction Banned event on Pay-Per-View (which you can watch here for free).  Whether this is Dana White's Big Announcement is still uncertain. It doesn't seem like this should be the "mind blowing" announcement at all.
