There are reports stirring around that there may be another fight between Couture and Liddell set for a venue in Germany. This has not been confirmed but the Sun in the UK is reporting this information. Couture coming off a loss to Brock Lesnar would be fighting another ...
As most of you already know, I'm a huge supporter of Chuck and everything that's he's done in and outside of the cage. I've watched numerous fights that he competed in that weren't in the UFC including his Vale Tudo (anything goes) fight in Brazil, his fight with the promotion ...
MMA Live brings you the latest in the world of mixed martial arts
UFC 88 main event Chuck Liddell was a matchup that was sure to not disappoint fans with the explosiveness capabilities of both fighters. Rashad's pre fight interviews were tauntalizing as he called Chuck "old". His taunts didn't end there. Rashad Evans continued to show off and taunt ...
This is the first of our Daily TKO blogs. Each night we will make a "quick hits" about news and posts in the MMA Blogosphere that we weren't able to fully report on.
Chuck Liddell answers some questions and shares his thoughts on his future.
Rashad Evans speaks about his upcoming fight with Chuck Liddell at UFC 88 Breakthrough on September 6th 2008.
Sherdog.com reported that they confirmed the match between Faber and Brown on September 10th through contacts in each fighters camp. As a Florida resident, I am totally stoked as the likely place for this fight will be the Seminole Hard Rock. Not only is it in FL, it is a week after Liddell vs Evans in UFC 88 in Atlanta. Two great fights all within distance for MMA Chump to attend.
As of June 12 1. Forrest Griffin 2. Quinton Jackson 3. Chuck Liddell 4. Dan Henderson 5. Kyoto Machida 6. Maurico Rua 7. Thiago Silva 8. Wanderlei Silva 9. Rashad Evans 10. Keith Jardine
This was a reply to a forum post here: http://www.mmachump.com/forums/forum24/82.html The question was: What are the ranges for a stand up technique? How can you measure it? And when do you use a stand up technique? If we assume that "Stand Up Fighting" refers to fighting while standing then it is probably best for us to think of "Stand Up" in two phases as originally described by John Danaher in his book Mastering Jujitsu.
Lyoto Machida made a few statements after Forrest Griffin's win over Rampage: In my opinion, Quinton defeated Forrest, but they give it to Forrest. I think that now they are going to put him against Chuck Liddell to him to take the belt again. I think they prefer Chuck with the belt, he is a former champion, has more marketing and sell more”
It appears that a Griffin Jackson Rematch is in discussion. The question would be will we have to wait for other fights first. White is quoted as saying "Rampage wants a rematch, Forrest said right away it is only right to give Rampage a rematch and it is a huge fight to do again. But there are a lot of great fights now Forrest is champion, the rematch being one of them, so we'll look at that over the next few months."
As you probably know already UFC 88 Breakthrough will be the first event hosted by the UFC in Atlanta. We will finally get to see Chuck Liddell back in the octagon versus another great opponent in Rashad Evans. Dana White put it best ""Chuck Liddell vs. Rashad Evans is a battle between the former champion looking to get a shot at reclaiming his crown and the undefeated contender looking to earn his first title shot. Chuck is a great wrestler and Rashad has shown improved striking skills so there is no way of telling what will happen when two fighters of this caliber collide." Well we are going to try!
