As you probably know already UFC 88 Breakthrough will be the first event hosted by the UFC in Atlanta. We will finally get to see Chuck Liddell back in the octagon versus another great opponent in Rashad Evans.
Dana White put it best “”Chuck Liddell vs. Rashad Evans is a battle between the former champion looking to get a shot at reclaiming his crown and the undefeated contender looking to earn his first title shot. Chuck is a great wrestler and Rashad has shown improved striking skills so there is no way of telling what will happen when two fighters of this caliber collide.”
Well we are going to try!
Chuck Liddell is the greatest counter-puncher of our time. His ability to continue to stand-up while facing some of the best grapplers made him an easy fan favorite. His wars with Randy Couture made junkies of all of us. At 21-5, The Iceman defeated Randy Couture, the chump Tito Ortiz, Wanderlei Silva, Renato Sobral, Jeremy Horn, and Vitor Belfort. He has avenged every loss but two; Quinton Jackson and Keith Jardine.
Rashad Evans was our Season 2 Ultimate Fighter from the heavyweight division. Since then he’s not only dropped to 205 making him stronger and faster than most of his opponents hes also undefeated with the only blemish on his record a draw to Tito Ortiz. Unfortunately this will certainly be the toughest opponent he has faced. While Rashad is an explosive athlete with good strikes and great wrestling, his inability to finish fights will be his Achilles heal in his fight versus Chuck Liddle.
Prediction: Chuck KO’s Evans Early in the 2nd Round while Evans shoots on him.
While the whole card hasn’t been determined, we have some ideas on who will be fighting. I’ll let you know them soon.

If Rashad Evans can get Liddell to the ground he will win the fight.

If Rashad does his sloppy shot and takes Chuck down, can he hold him where much better wrestlers could not? I think not. Chuck will destroy rashad with punches, elbows and hopefully some head kicks. Late first, early second round KO.

Liddell, Round 2
I dont believe that Evans has what it takes to beat Liddell.
People say, well he had a draw with Tito, beat so and so,
Bottom line, he is still relatively new, and everyone has beat Tito lately. So to say that a tie with Tito was an accomplishment, isnt saying much.
