For the first part, we take a story from a UK News source that interviewed UFC’s Michael Bisping. Bisping stated several thing but the biggest statement that has the internet buzz culminating was:
It’s going to be good to see if Fedor is still the man but I’ve heard on the grapevine from inside sources that he could be injured.
Heard it through the grapevine? I guess grapevine’s don’t have a language barrier. First of all, it’s a UK news source taking information from a British fighter. This is more like “I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend”. I wouldn’t give Bisping’s claim too much credit for a couple reasons:
The guy was devastating in Pride but he’s had a long lay off now and his last couple of fights have been against smaller guys.
That last statement was just weak and inaccurate. His last fight was against Hong-Man Choi who is 7′2″ and 367lbs. Ok Bisping, if you think that’s smaller, you name someone big enough to consider that small.
Fedor’s website admin has said this report is false as well. Of all people, I’m sure he would know more than Bisping. It’s not like Bisping and Fedor are best friends and talk every day. Igor spoke with Fedor the night before this news posting and there was no mention of injury.
While the story may be true, the chances are slim. But now it sets the stage for “If Fedor loses, it’s because he’s injured but if he wins he’s that good”. If he is injured it’s a minor injury or he would have told someone on his team about the injury. Don’t worry fans, were going to see a battle and even if Fedor is injured, it won’t be the reason he loses.
