It was rumored a few days ago that UFC 89 would not air on PPV but rather on Spike TV.

For the record Sprawler said this to me over a month ago when the Leben-Bisping fight was announced. He thought there was no way that the headliner would have enough pull to garner PPV buys and that it would have much better success live on Spike.

The noise on the net is that this will be the announcement from Dana Saturday Night during the UFC 84 Replay.

It would be disappointing if this is all it was, particularly because I heard about it this past weekend.

2nd because that fight is really far away and I was hoping that we would hear about something that would affect us a little sooner.

The International Event on October 18th features Michael Bisping, Chris Leben, Lyoto Machida, and Thiago Silva.

Personally, I was excited about the card on PPV because it wouldn’t have any commercials, but if you weren’t going to watch the fights otherwise its a good move from the UFC.
