It is confirmed! What was rumored has now been confirmed via UFC.com for a fight night in Omaha, Nebraska on September 17th. Tickets go on sale starting July 16th in two days.
The main event on the card is Nate Diaz (8 – 2 – 0) vs Josh Neer (23 – 6 – 1). I don’t know if I’m alone in my thinking but to me this card lacks the pizazz that the other cards have. While many of you will argue Diaz vs Neer is an awesome fight, it just doesn’t impress me. We’ll have the full fight card up later today.
I suppose with UFC 88: Breakthrough being at the beginning of the month and UFC 89: Bisping vs Leben a month later, it is somewhat expected to not be a huge card. As well as the fact that it’s on Spike TV for free. It will be interesting to see if Dana White adds more people to the card if EliteXC puts on an event on this date.

Nate Diaz…..(yawn) not exactly a huge name or crowd draw. I would wager that the illustrious Mr. White will be scrambling to add some more names to the card. The real question is…is the main event something that was planned to be so “unimpressive” or are they in a bind because the talent field is being spread around?

The UFC has plenty of talent. I doubt that this will be the extent of the headliner though

It appears it is though.

Nope read the Hub, A fight between season-six winner Mac Danzig (18-4-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and opponent Clay Guida (23-9 MMA, 3-3 UFC) will be followed by the night’s final bout between season-five winner Nate Diaz (9-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and Josh Neer (24-6-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC).
