With all this talk about UFC and Affliction, we (me anyway) have kind of forgotten about one of the most exciting organization out there; the WEC.

The WEC has its first Florida event on September 10th at the Hard Rock in Hollywood at 9pm ET.  This will put two titles on the line.  The featherweight champion, Urijah Faber (21-1) will face Mike Brown (19-4) and the middleweight champion Paulo Fiho (16-0) will face Chael Sonnen (21-9-1) in a rematch.

Urijah Faber is just ridiculous and makes MMA look way too easy.  Most remember Faber walking through Jens Pulver.  People may disagree with me here because it went to a decision but Faber put on a clinic….Pulver is just tough as nail.

I haven’t seen much of Paulo Fiho but what I have seen I have loved.  He is rumored to possibly jump to the UFC to fight Anderson Silva but I think he needs to establish himself a little more in the WEC.  He will first have to get through Chael in the highly anticipated and controversial rematch from last year.

Did I forget to mention the best part?  It’s free to watch on VERSUS.  If your cable provider doesn’t carry it, start hounding them about it now.

I can’t wait for September; football is back, there is a great UFC Atlanta card and now this from the WEC.
