As many of you know, arguably, the greatest fight in the history of MMA is about to take place. I am of course talking about the monumental Lesnar vs Couture fight set for November 15th, a fight that is going to have a huge impact on the careers of two top fighters in the heavyweight division but when i really thought about it i decided that I don’t want to see this happen until Randy Couture is no longer needed to pump up the heavyweight division.
What I don’t think some people get is if Randy loses the torch, it is going to be passed to a man who has only 3 professional fights and I don’t think anybody is going to want to see Randy have to put up his gloves and hang around with Joe Rogan every PPV BS’ing his way through speeches about how great Brock is and all the life lessons the loss gave him.
Dana White didn’t offer Brock Lesnar this fight as a way to get Randy back, I mean he’s a fan favorite now but hes not going to be there forever, Brock has a long time ahead and he’s not retiring any time soon. If he wins and Randy decides that maybe it was in the best interest of fans and himself to retire again than Dana now has a new face with a now credible name to boost the heavyweight division. I don’t think this is going be the return people are hoping for. I hate to say it but this is a coronation for the new king. All hail the “Next Big Thing”.

Great first post bud. It’s a win/win for the UFC with this fight.

Randy likes it so much cause he’s getting a % of PPV revenue.

actually dana did set this up to get back and randy.
randy as an ex-pat threatens focus on other org.
ana doesn’t like to share, no matter how stinking rich he is.
Anyway, do people really think this is the greatest mma fight ever?!
Really, for real really ????!! arrrgh!
“arguably”.
i think i’ll sit that argument out.
i hope randy wins but, whatever…

i think he obviously made this fight for randy to return but i do think he knows that its in the companys best interest long term for lesnar to win this decisivly patrick

basically randy is back for now and if he wins thats great for couture fans but ufc will probably scramble to find a fighter to beat him especially if he gets past the winner of mir and nogueira
