Georges St Pierre made an official statement today regarding the vaseline controversy:

George St-Pierre’s successful welterweight title defense at UFC 94 was the direct result of his disciplined preparation and skillful execution of a masterful gameplan.  Any implication to the contrary would diminish the significance of what was perhaps the biggest fight in MMA history.

St-Pierre states: “I have never cheated in my life, and as my fans know, I am deeply committed to upholding the integrity of the sport.  My entire camp and I have been completely open about what happened during my fight at UFC 94 – we have nothing to hide.  One of my cornermen did use an energy technique to help with my breathing that involves rubbing my back.  He’s also done this in my previous fights.  If there was any Vaseline left on his hand after he put it on my face, it was unintentional, and I do not believe it made the slightest difference in the outcome of the fight.  Of course it’s up to the UFC, but I would be happy to offer BJ a second rematch.  I am confident the outcome will be the same.”

BJ, he laid it out and said he would be willing to take the challenge, do you accept?

I really see don’t want to see GSP-Penn 3. GSP mauled Penn so bad it didn’t even matter if he had grease or not…He’s just holding back Thiago Alves chance at being great. Penn should stop being butt hurt and just stay in 155 where he belongs.

it damn sure wouldn’t get the ratings that this last one got after BJ got straight worked… i’d rather watch fitch vs gsp again. i think alves is gonna be his hardest fight yet… but gsp trains so damn hard it’s hard to think he would lose.

If there was a GSP-Penn 3, there would be a huge ammount of ratings and viewers, from both sides of the fence, every fuckin hawiann out there probably believes gsp cheated, even without out reading the facts, so they would tune in to see what they think will be a completely different outcome, they all believe that bj penn is the better fighter, even tho he neglected his training and fucked around behind the scenes to much, but every fuckin canadian out there is gonna tune in to see GSP dominate him again, cuz they kno he can, and kno he will, cuz he bigger faster stronger, better and trains way harder, he pushes himself to the limit and beyond, so if team penn really wants to make a deal out of this i say they should and i say GSP should take the challenge and go for a rematch to prove that BJ Penn is the guttless fat little hawaaian that runs his mouth way to much for his own good, that he showed himself to be on ufc primetime 1-3 and in GSP-Penn fights 1 and 2

I’d watch a third fight just to see BJ get his ass kicked again. You know, I was actually rooting for BJ at the end of round 4 (looked like the fight was close to a stoppage). I really wanted another round of BJ’s face being pummeled. I wanted to see him cry.

GSP is at the top of his game, his technique is complete with perfect take down defence, wrestling, BJJ, karate, boxing. GSP gave BJ Penn a bitching; and now Penn is hurt because he couldn’t back up his words after all he did was talk trash about how he was going to “kick his ass”. Penn, shut the hell up. grease or no grease Penn was doomed from the beginning, I’m just surprised that he lasted until the 4th round. Stay at 155 and try to do there what you can while you still can and leave the welterweight to the big guys. Penn keeps complaining that he was unable to use his BJJ due to GSP greasiness but George never gave him the chance to even try it in the first place. George KICKED Penn’s ass and that is all there is to it. If there is any 3rd fight the outcome will be the same if not worst for Penn ’cause now George is even more pissed.

    AMEN
